Inclusionary Zoning is a Terrible Idea

Inclusionary zoning is a terrible idea. All this will do is make condos more expensive and more difficult to develop. Affordable housing in this context does not mean cheaper condos, it means subsidized rentals. The subsidizing is at the developer’s cost. According to Jennifer Keesmat over 500 cities in the US have inclusionary zoning? Really? 500 cities in the US make developers include “affordable housing” within their projects? Hey Jennifer Keesmaat, show me even 20 cities in the US that have inclusionary zoning in the high-rise marketplace, I seriously doubt your claim. Prove me wrong. Sorry I just don’t think this is factual. Why is “affordable housing” the responsibility of the private sector?
